Beauty Sleep: Overnight treatments that work!

Being a full-time college student and working roughly 25 hours a week I tend to always look for ways to speed things up. Throw in a boyfriend and family commitments? Free time is a luxury I do not have anymore, which means I'm constantly coming up with new ways to do two or three things at once. Realizing I could use the time I'm asleep to do other things at the same time....well, that was a life-changing moment.

First things first, these tips may not work for everyone. Due to the varying skin types and each individual's needs, odds are not everything on this list will work for you. Depending on products you're already using/have used before, hopefully you can get a feel for what will work for you and what won't. Now, let's get down to business!

FACE:
Depending on how you're most comfortable sleeping, it's up to you on whether or not you'd be up to putting on an overnight face mask.

For my dry skin people: Wearing a moisturizing mask overnight can make a huge difference once you wake up. On those rare nights my skin feels like it might crack and chip off, I love to use (the horrifically expensive) Glamglow ThirstyMud Hydrating Treatment. I've been using a free sample from Sephora, but you could also just use a good thick moisturizer and load that baby alllllll over (you can put a towel over your pillow just in case you roll over at night!)
For my oily skin/blemish prone people: Two words... charcoal. mask. Seriously, it's my favorite time to wear a charcoal mask. I rarely have the time (except for the occasional Sunday while doing laundry) to put on a mask and wait for it to dry. I've heard a lot of people use their Glamglow SuperMud as an overnight mask, but I prefer Origin's Clear Improvement. Apply per usual, simply don't take off the mask until you wake up. Often times, the mask is mostly dry by the time you fall asleep so there's less of a chance of that smearing all over your pillows!

EYELASHES:
Although I feel pretty lucky that I have some nice looking eyelashes, this isn’t the case for everyone. For those of us who need a little boost, dip a Q-Tip in some olive oil and gently coat your lashes with it. You can do this as often as needed, and soon you'll have some beautiful, fluttery eyelashes!

LIPS:
Your lips are very important. Not only are they nice to look at, they're a pretty essential part of your face, and odds are people look at them often. Please, take care of your lips! If you're not the type of person who can be applying lip balm all day long, then this next treatment is going to save you from dry, flaky lips.

First step, exfoliating! This can be an expensive lip scrub from a high-end brand, ELF's exfoliator (which comes in a lipstick tube, and is my personal favorite) or a simple blend of honey and sugar. After washing and moisturizing and all of that good stuff, exfoliate your lips and then apply a thick lip balm, or something of the sort. I personally love to wear a thick lip balm every single night. My weapon of choice is the Aquaphor Healing Ointment Advanced Repair, and I am emotionally attached to this in unhealthy ways. Another great (yet heartbreakingly high-priced) option is Bite Beauty's Agave Lip Mask, but you can just use whatever you have. By the time you wake up, you'll have luscious, soft lips that are ready to take on the day.

HAIR:
Does everyone want Sophia Vergara's hair or is it just me? I love long, soft, silky hair. My hair gets oily heartbreakingly quickly so I can't go without washing my hair almost every day. I have a strip of hair bleached (it's blonde/blue/purple depending on what day you're looking at it) so I like to use deep conditioners as often as I can. Want that extra nice benefits of a hair mask? Wear it overnight! After my shower, I like to coat my hair in my favorite deep conditioning mask (coconut oil works amazing as well!) and wrap my hair into a bun to hold it all in place. Instead of ruining a pillow case, use a towel over a pillow or a shower cap if you have one!

HANDS:
You use your hands with almost everything you do, take care of them! If you're not the type to apply hand cream frequently, slathering on a thick moisturizer before bed with some (preferably cotton) gloves will do the trick! I love to use Aquaphor with this, but any moisturizer (or Vaseline) will do.

FEET:
For people like me, my feet are my method of transportation. I'm either walking everywhere, or I'm standing on a crowded bus or train. If my feet aren't happy, I'm not happy, so making sure I take care of them is pretty important to me. This is essentially the same concept as your hands; coat in a good moisturizer and wear your least favorite pair of socks to bed.

Those are all I have right now but let me know in the comments if you've tried any and how they worked for you!
